I’m so excited to share my first ever product collaboration with you, and it’s with The Gypsy Shrine – the queens of festival makeup. Jenna, the founder of The Gypsy Shrine approached me last year with the idea of collaborating and I was so excited that she asked! Having my own designs of face gems and glitters was something I was already thinking about and so knew it was the perfect collaboration for me for 2017.

Festival makeup and fashion is something I adore and I know it’s something you all follow me for. I had been craving to do a product collaboration for sometime as it’s a nice way of giving something back to you all, so I was SO excited to get stuck into the designs. Jenna and I chatted about the collection and thought it would be good idea to create two face gems and four glitters; two to match each gem so that people can create a complete look. When it came to inspiration for the designs I already knew one had to be mermaid themed; for obvious reasons! The other one we decided to create inspired by another huge trend: Unicorns. We wanted to keep one gem slightly wearable and one really insane, so that there was something for everyone.

For this particular gem I had a vision of it sitting on the forehead kind of like it was part of a headpiece. You know you can get those headpieces that sit around your head and feature an amazing jewel design on your forehead; I wanted it to be like that, and also a face gem that you could work into a hairstyle. For my inspiration I looked on Pinterest and Google Images and actually looked at jewelled headpieces and statement necklace designs. I wanted to see how jewels and gems were placed next to each other, what sizes and shapes were used and colours. This gave me a lot of inspiration and I got sketching! I think I created about 10-15 rough designs and sent these across to Jenna to bring them to life! For the Mermaid Crown face gem I wanted the colour theme to be blues and turquoises, like the ocean, so Jenna mixed up the colours in the design. I absolutely love how this one turned out, and can’t wait to see you all wearing it at festivals!

For this design, we wanted it to be a big statement piece. When I think of Unicorns, I think silver, pinks and purples, so we kept the face gem in plain silver and the colour within the glitters. Jenna said her Ice Queen Halloween face gems had sold like mad back in October, so we thought we’d use that as inspiration but altered the design so it was one forehead piece. This particular face gem seems to be the most popular of the two, which I’m so surprised at as we both thought it might be a bit too much of a statement for everyone. But hey, we’re so happy you all love it! If you wanna get your hands on it, you can do so here on The Gypsy Shrine’s website.

For each face gem we wanted two different glitters along the same theme. So for the mermaid face gem we decided to opt for blues and created: Blue Mermaid and Deep Sea Mermaid glitters. Both glitters are fairly chunky and work great together or separately. We thought it was a fabulous idea to offer you a complete festival makeup look, so you don’t have to worry about finding other products to go with the face gems. For the Unicorn face gem we opted for purpley pink colours and created: Unicorn Dreams and Unicorn Tears; one very chunky and the other a little finer. As you may know I LOVE a glitter tear look, and this trend is best created with a finer glitter.

So that’s it! That’s my festival makeup collection I created with The Gypsy Shrine! I hope you love it as much as I do! I will be creating lots of content over the festival season using my range, so be sure to keep an eye out for inspiration on what looks you can create. For now, here’s a few shots from the photo shoot of my collection.
